The majority of NYSUT Retiree Council 21's members are retirees from school districts located in the Town of Islip on the South Shore of Long Island. Our logo depicts the Fire Island Lighthouse superimposed over the map of Long Island. The Lighthouse lies on the barrier beach directly south of the Town of Islip.
General Membership meetings of the Council are usually held at the West Islip Public Library on the second Tuesday in the months of September, November, December, March, April and May. (Check the Events Calendar for definitive list of meeting dates.) Meetings in October and June are held in conjunction with a social brunch or luncheon at a time and place announced in our calendar.
